APRIL: Gifts Dedicated to God
April Faith Formation family ActivitIES
HOPE ACTIVITY JAR
Hope. We are all in need of hope. We can find hope in many places; in sunny days and new life of spring. We also find hope in the Bible. Romans 5:5 tells us, “and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” As a family take a few minutes and talk about hope. What are some things you are hopeful for? What are you looking forward to? Ask everyone in your family to write down an activity they hope to do in the future. Gather all the ideas and keep them in a jar, add them to your prayer space, or tape them to the calendar. Then this summer, schedule time to complete each activity. |
PEACE TREE
We could all use a little peace in our families, in our daily lives, and in our world. Jesus gives us the gift of peace. We can always pray for the peace of Christ to fill our lives and our hearts. As a family create a peace tree and print or cut out one dove per family member. Have each person decorate a dove and write a prayer for peace on their dove. Hang the doves on the tree during prayer time. Find more information and peace tree and dove outlines here.
WRITE A LETTER
Now is a time to be connected with those we can't visit with in person. Write a letter to grandparents, far away relatives, friends across town or email Jenni and ask for a pen pal. Get a piece of paper, find a pen and write a letter. Draw a picture or add a little color to your note with stickers, crayons, or markers. Don’t forget to put a return address on the envelope, you just might get a note back. Happy writing. |
FAMILY FAITH FORMATION AT HOME VIDEOS
These videos are a great way to share Faith Formation at home during the Easter season. Gather around to watch the video, sing and pray with Catholic artists. Family Formation at Home
ALLELUIA BANNERS
We invite each household to make an Alleluia banner or poster, then take an Easter picture of your family with the banner. Email your Easter photo to the parish BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15 and we'll create an Easter video for the whole parish to enjoy. Look for this Easter video on Facebook and the parish website. |
CELEBRATE EASTER! ALLELUIA!
This year as we celebrate Easter at home we find new ways to share our Easter joy with others. How can you share our Easter joy? You could decorate your driveway with an Easter Alleluia chalk drawing. Paint your front door or window with a “stain glass” window. How to here. Hang plastic or paper Easter eggs in a tree or bush in your front yard. How will you share Easter joy with others this year?

PRAYER ROCKS
Faith, Hope, and Love. We can all be hope and share love with one another through our faith. This week’s Faith Formation Family Activity is to create prayer rocks. This activity is as big as your imagination. As a family, choose a bible verse, find a rock and paint the verse on it. Or choose a word to encourage your household during this time, and write on it on your rock with a permanent maker. Each individual in your household can make their own rock. Don’t have a rock? Paint an empty cereal box to look like a rock and paint your verse on it. Add your rocks to your prayer space or keep them by your bed for night time prayers. Or, paint a large rock in your yard to send a message to all who pass. Use your imagination, open your Bible, and create something as a family. Here are a few ideas on how to paint rocks.
